• Martin LUTHER and music

Martin Luther, the sixteenth-century Protestant reformer, was also a passionate musician and composer. He composed around 36 German chorales, including the famous “Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott”. By introducing vernacular singing into the liturgy, he made worship more accessible and participatory. His commitment to musical education and his collaborations with Johann Walter and Ludwig Senfl laid the foundations of Protestant sacred music, leaving a lasting influence on composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach.
